The Release Train Engineer will be the Scrum of Scrum Masters and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of initiatives necessary to delivery. This position requires both extensive knowledge of lean-startup / agile methodology matched by a deep program management expertise. In addition to delivery related responsibilities, we will also look to this person to guide/coach the agile teams, and others in the organization on how to use agile/scrum practices and values.
Responsibilities:
Release Train Transparency
Assists the Agile Release Train to remain transparent to itself, the teams on the train, and to the organization through:
Portfolio Backlog Management in the work management tool. Includes ensuring that the data is populated and accurate in order to generate accurate reporting. Includes the collection of metrics, KPIs, investment mix reporting, and other reporting as needed by the release train or organization.
Help to provide transparency on the expected value delivered to organizational leaders and stakeholders.
Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings with organizational leaders and stakeholders
Delivery Coordination
Assists the Agile Release Train in the coordination of major feature releases and ongoing delivery of value to customers.
Collaborate with other RTEs in the coordination of program level initiatives that cross multiple release trains.
Assists the Agile Release Train in resolving or reporting escalated impediments, risks, and/or dependencies management that may be hindering the team’s ability to deliver features.
Continuous Improvement
Assists the Agile Release Train to continuously improve through the facilitation of Retrospectives and assessment of Agility level.
Help to align processes across the scrum teams within the Agile Release Train and document processes when necessary
Coach train leadership, teams and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
Qualifications
What We Look For:
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6+ years of experience in a complex project and program management roles with at least with 3+ years leading Scrum teams.

SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) Certification is preferred
